Patricia Colwell Consulting- I have seen lots of homes newly built in CA, TX, OR, WA & FL along with coastal areas still using porcelain wood look tile. Just set your expectations accordingly, you are saving on costs, paying more for the product and getting something that will outlast most other flooring. Having been very critical above, the end result (apart from the grout colour) has proved to meet our expectations (as we do have a four legged friend who would have ruined a natural wood floor). Transitions recommended by the manufacturer are metal, which didn’t blend with out decor and had to stain white oak to achieve the desired end result. The colour match between the manufacturers information sheets and actual product is off (product ended up drying lighter) and was poor. Rapid Grout is easy, but grout lines differed between 90 deg edges and the limited selection of colour and matching to tiles is limited. The actual product is thicker than a normal tile and requires extra care when scribing and snapping (as mentioned in a previous submission), the product is not flat and fairly rigid so it is not easy to flex to lock in place (not so Quic Tile as the manufacturer would lead you to believe). While this product does away with most of the prep work over tile and thinset, it does require additional skills beyond a normal wood or laminate floor.

Just had Revotile installed in our Great-room over existing laminate floating tile.
